He hails from the town of Swellendam where he was born and
bred. Date of birth 9 th May 1972.
He obtained his degree in Agricultural Economics at the
University of Stellenbosch.
Part of Commercial Agriculture for 25 years.
He is married to Lizel who is a Physiotherapist in Swellendam.
They have two children, a daughter aged 17 and son aged 14.
His interest in serving the community led him to get involved in
politics.
Trail running and mountain biking are his spare time activities.
His motto is: Do what you do, to the best of your ability.
Municipal Vision: To grow the economy in the Overberg and
subsequently allow for job creation.
24 years experience on District Municipality level.
Nine years: Executive Mayor – Overberg District Municipality.
