Kgosi Marogoa is currently working for the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). He is employed as Senior Manager for Enterprise\/Supplier Development and has successfully drafted SITA\u2019s first SMME policy that was approved by both CEO and the Board. He has also managed to establish processes that favours SMMEs to do business with SITA. For the first time SITA took 16 SMMEs through an ED programme under his guidance. He continues to provide SMMEs with relevant ICT and 4IR skills as demanded by the market.<\/p>
Kgosi has also worked for Telkom SA as an Enterprise Development Manager and practitioner and was responsible for implementation of BBBEE focusing on developing and bringing black small owned companies into Telkom\u2019s supply chain. He has also assisted and supported Telkom SA Tender Proposal Centre in preparation of Telkom SA business proposals.<\/p>
His contribution led Telkom to achieve many awards for BBBEE and Enterprise Development in year 2013 and 2014 consecutively. Many black owned companies and small companies were channelled to become suppliers at Telkom through his work and influence. At the DTIC Centre for Small Business Promotion (CSBP) was responsible for linking small companies with big companies and linking small companies that wanted to export their goods to foreign countries with potential importers. He coordinated some of the unlaunched incubation initiatives then called Local Business Service Centres (LBSC) under the CSBP. Whilst at the CSBP many SMMEs managed to export their goods to the value of more than R100m through the export incentives schemes that were developed by our Directorate.<\/p>
In 1997 he was seconded to a committee called \u201cThe Black Construction Industry Plenary Team\u201d consisting of the DTI, Public Works Dept and ILO. This committee was charged with developing information products for the emerging contractors.<\/p>
Whilst at the DTIC, he assisted with the establishment of the \u201cGender Desk\u201d which today has grown to become a Directorate on its own.<\/p>
He has sat on the management board of Tshwane BMF and has represented it on the regional board of BMF Gauteng whenever requested by the local management board. Kgosi Marogoa is still an active member of the Tshwane BMF chapter. He has contributed in a number of transformational forums including the DTIC \u201cCodes of Good Business Practice\u201d, BEE forums, SOEPF and Black Information Technology Forum (BITF). <\/p>
