Holding a PhD, MBA, and MSc, Francini is dedicated to strategic and future planning within the economy-environment interface. She has worked in environmental management in South Africa for the past nineteen years, covering both private and public sectors. Currently at Western Cape Government Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning, her role includes the integration of sustainability into governance and policies towards provincial resilience goals. It is also from within this directorate that she is the co-lead representative for the UN One Planet Network Sustainable Public Procurement Programme.
