Debbie Tagg is the CEO of Smart Procurement, a division of Commerce Edge (Pty) Ltd, where she has led the growth of Africa’s largest end-to-end market access and industry engagement platform. She first joined Commerce Edge over 14 years ago as COO, following her role as Managing Director at an international B2B media and training company.
Smart Procurement is focused on procurement and supply chain professionalisation, enterprise and supplier development, and facilitating high-impact industry events such as the Absa ESD Expo, which has supported over 14,000 SMMEs to date. Debbie also founded AfricaPro, expanding the platform into sectors like rail, marketing, and housing.Her passion lies in linking SMMEs to real opportunities and building purpose-driven ecosystems. She also serves as Chair of the Reside Summit & Awards and Acting CEO of SAHARA, supporting innovation and collaboration across the residential sector.
